My Journey to a Relaxing Creative Space
This past Sunday was a big one. I tackled the mountain that is my art/craft room – a space that had become overwhelmingly saturated with years of unfinished projects. Honestly, a lot of that "stuff happening" is a story I'm not quite ready to share, but suffice it to say, it left me with a room (and a mind) full of creative clutter.
I grabbed a 30-gallon trash bag and started to purge. First, anything that brought back bad memories went straight into the bag. Then, I tossed supplies that were too broken or simply too old to use. It felt incredibly liberating to let go of those physical reminders of the past.
My goal now is to organize everything by category. I'm determined to use the supplies I already have, both newly bought and older, still-usable items. Money's really tight right now, so buying new isn't an option if I can avoid it. It's a huge undertaking, but I'm committed to creating a truly relaxing environment where I can finally sit down and just create.
I'm ready to put the past behind me and live in the now. This isn't just about decluttering a room; it's about decluttering my mind and making space for joy and creativity.
Is Creative Block All About Your Surroundings?
Have you ever felt a creative block? You might want to take a good look at your surroundings. I'm learning firsthand how much our physical space impacts our ability to create. A cluttered environment can absolutely lead to a cluttered mind, making it impossible for fresh ideas to flow.
