From Stress to Studio: Pouring My Heart into My Art (and My Livelihood)

Published on 9 July 2025 at 10:11

It's Wednesday, and honestly, the weight of the week feels heavy. Just yesterday, I hit a wall – a real meltdown, overwhelmed by the daunting reality of no sales coming in. This isn't just a business to me; it's everything. It's my deepest passion and my very livelihood, especially since my autoimmune disorder means working outside the house just isn't an option. I fought hard for my business degree in my early 40s after my first divorce, pouring all that newfound strength and determination into building this dream.

Creating is my sanctuary, my precious escape from the world's constant hum and my own worries. So, when yesterday's stress became unbearable, I did what I always do: I walked straight into my studio. With a little Ozzy blasting to fuel my fire, I channeled all that raw emotion into something beautiful, something hopeful. That intense moment brought to life two new art cards, "Beach" and "Hello Summer," now waiting for you in the shop. Each one holds a piece of my heart, a testament to turning struggle into beauty.

Connecting Through Creation: My Hope for the Future

This season has been all about renewal. I've refreshed my logo and painstakingly retooled my website, praying it makes it easier for you to find and connect with the art that means so much to me.

And there's more on the horizon, born from this same hope! I'm eagerly preparing to share tutorials and more inspiration with you soon. But perhaps the most profound shift has been my renewed commitment to connecting with you, my incredible audience, through social media. I'm inviting you behind the scenes for glimpses of my creative process, offering sneak peeks of new pieces, and even hosting live Q&A sessions.

It's truly humbling and deeply moving to see how my story and my creations resonate. Building this sense of community around my work has become a lifeline, reminding me why I do this every single day. Your support, your engagement, your willingness to invest in my art – it doesn't just fund my business; it keeps this dream alive. It means the world to me, and with your help, I can keep pouring my soul into what I love.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being here on this journey with me.

How do you deal with stress?
